Use of camera. Extreme closeup- a small section of an object/ person Close up- neck and face Long shot- whole body and background so you get a sense of the setting Wide shot- get a lot of the background Medium shot- waist up, can see more of the character and the background Point of view- the camera is in place of the person, can see from their POV Low angle- puts the character in a position of power and makes the viewer feel inferior High angle- makes the character seem vulnerable and puts the viewer in a position of power Over the shoulder-filmed over the shoulder of the character Speed of shots What is the effect of having a few slow moving shots and changing to lots of fast moving shots? The beginning will build suspense for the viewer and slowly begin to reveal the message and when it speeds up the message will be reinforced and this is likely to install fear, excitement and a sense of thrill in the viewer.
